Sarah Turgeon
November 30, 1986 ~ June 2, 2023 (age 36) 36 Years Old
Sarah Turgeon-Mimeault, 36, passed away unexpectedly on June 2, 2023 at her home in Agawam. She was the beloved wife of Daniel Mimeault and the loving daughter of Sandra M. Turgeon and the late James E. Turgeon. Born in Springfield, MA on November 30, 1986, Sarah lived her early childhood years there before moving to Hampden, MA. She graduated from Minnechaug High School, class of 2005 and attended Johnson and Wales University in Providence, RI.
On May 4, 2019, Sarah married Dan, the love of her life. In him, she had found the perfect partner to share her love of family and her quest for adventure, which included her family’s annual vacation to Race Point.
Sarah’s passing has left an enormous void in the lives of all those who knew and loved her. Missed already are her huge bear hug greetings, her big laugh, the twinkle in her beautiful eyes and that radiant smile. Relentlessly fun loving, she could add sparkle to any room she entered.
In so many ways, Sarah was still a “big kid”. She was the first to join in the fun and the last to leave it. As a result, children, especially her precious nephew, Jamie, loved being with her.
To know Sarah was also to experience her boundless generosity. She used her creativity and artistic talent to create thoughtful gifts for those she loved. Having endured many of her own health challenges, she was passionate about helping others and had aspired to be a nurse.
In addition to her husband, Dan and her mother, Sandra, Sarah leaves behind her sister, Jennifer Turgeon, Jen’s partner Kevin Pereira as well as her very special nephew James “Jamie” Pereira, whom she adored.
She also leaves behind her mother-in-law, Stacie Mimeault and her father-in-law, James Mimeault.
In addition, she leaves her aunt and uncle, Kathleen and Robert Stepanian, her uncle and aunt, Steven and Tammy Taupier as well as her cousins: Eric Stepanian (Megan), Matthew Stepanian (Ashleigh), Lindsey Taupier, Alexis Taupier, Kimberly Downey (Marty) and Nicholas Stellato (Arti).
She also leaves behind a large extended family of cousins, aunts, uncles and friends including her godmother, Susan Delpozzo, all of whom mourn her loss.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, June 8, 2023 from 4 – 7 PM at Forastiere Smith Funeral & Cremation, 220 North Main Street, East Longmeadow. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 9, 2023 beginning at 8:45 AM at the funeral home followed by a service at 10 AM at LifeStream Church, 216 Allen St. Hampden, MA. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
