January 13, 1932 ~ September 24, 2023 (age 91) 91 Years Old
EAST LONGMEADOW – Richard L. Fattini, 91, passed away at his home on September 24, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Born in West Springfield, MA on January 13, 1932 to the late Richard C. and Severina G. (Floriani) Fattini, he attended Western New England College receiving his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Accounting. Richard then proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict from August, 1951 – August, 1953. Prior to retirement, he worked as an Accountant for Package Machinery for 30+ years. In his spare time, he was a member of the Italian-American Veterans Club where he was a former Commander and enjoyed bartending friends. He also attended yearly Monastery Retreats, enjoyed cooking Italian specialties, vegetable gardening, much traveling and casino outings. Besides his parents, Richard was predeceased by his sister Elvira Orlando and his much loved canine companion, Duke. He leaves his beloved wife and constant companion of 68 years, Patricia A. (McDonald) Fattini; his daughters Donna Carestia; husband Louis, Cheri Badger; husband Michael, Linda Silk; husband John. He also leaves his cherished grandchildren; Michael, Kyle, Matthew, Jaclyn and Alex as well as many family. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to Spectrum Hospice, the dedicated caretakers and aides for their compassion and to Dr. T.K. Raman for his many years of care. Family and friends are invited to gather on Friday, September 29, 2023 from 9 – 10 AM at Forastiere Smith Funeral & Cremation, 220 North Main Street, East Longmeadow. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM at St. Michael’s Church, 128 Maple Street, East Longmeadow followed by committal services and military honors at 1 PM at the Massachusetts Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Main Street, Agawam. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Richard’s memory may be made to DAV – Disabled American Veterans, P.O.
