Love Ashton

Love Marie (Beeler) Ashton, 90, formerly of Feeding Hills, passed away peacefully Sunday, June 17, 2018 at The Maples in Wrentham, MA. Born in Pittsfield, Love was the oldest daughter of the late Leon C. and Grace (Hubbel) Beeler. After graduating Dalton High School, she attended North Adams State College. Shortly thereafter she met her future husband and on August 28, 1948, married Ronald H. Ashton where they stayed steadfast together until his passing on November 12, 2007. Love was a longtime member of the Agawam United Methodist Church, actively participating as choir director and treasurer. She was a member of the Memory Lane Chorus, enjoyed photography and was an avid bird watcher. She also enjoyed rug-hooking and knitting countless hats for chemotherapy patients. Love is survived by her daughter, Denise Barnett and her husband Charles of Agawam; her son Ronald S. Ashton and his wife Marcia of South Easton, MA; her sister Betsy Burnell of Pittsfield and brother, Carl Beeler of San Angelo, TX. Love also leaves her five grandchildren, Arthur Von Marschall of West Springfield, Sarah and Hannah Ashton of South Easton, Sean Collins and Lisa (Collins) Callahan of Agawam plus several great-grandchildren. Love was predeceased by her daughter Donna Berthiaume, brothers Edgar and Leon Beeler and sister Frederica "Freddy" Froio Kelly. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend visiting hours this Sunday, June 24, 2018 from 1-4 PM followed by a Funeral Service in honor & remembrance of Love's life at 4 PM at the Colonial-Forastiere Funeral Home, 985 Main St. Agawam. Interment will be private at a later date.
