L. Robert “Bob” Hildreth, 91, passed away on March 22, 2020. Born on August 17, 1928 in Springfield, MA to the late Lloyd R. Hildreth, Sr. and Madeline (Segerstedt) Hildreth, he grew up in the Hungary Hill Section of Springfield and graduated from Springfield Technical High School. From 1946 -1948, Bob proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He also was previously employed as the Vice President of Third National Bank.
As a faithful communicant of First Congregational Church in East Longmeadow, he was very involved in church activities and the Men’s Club. He also loved to golf and was a member of the Veteran’s Golf Course in Springfield.
Besides his parents, Bob was predeceased by his daughter Jan L. Hildreth who passed away on May 9, 2018. To cherish his memory, he leaves his wife Dorothea “Dot” (Yarnell) Hildreth of Springfield; his sons Mark Hildreth of Mechanicville, NY and Scott Hildreth of Westfield, MA as well as his grandchildren Rebecca Hildreth, Erika Supczak and Mark Hildreth, Jr.
Funeral services will be private for the family and have been entrusted to Forastiere Smith Funeral Home.
