1939 – 2019
Springfield – Jean Ida (Rega) Tranghese, died on Monday, August 12, 2019. She was born in Enfield, CT to the late Rocco and Fanny (Alevras) Rega on May 31, 1939. She was a 1957 graduate of Enfield High School. Jean was employed at Hallmark Cards working in various capacities in the Order Control Department for over 10 years. Jean loved to host parties and was known for her Christmas Eve gatherings with family and friends. Her home was always open and she enjoyed having children over especially in the summer to swim in the pool. She was very grateful for the many friends and family who were always there when she needed them especially during her illness. The family would like to thank the staff at Baystate and the many home health care nurses and aides for their exceptional care and concern. Jean leaves her sons, Carlo and Dino Tranghese; her daughter, Gina Tranghese; and her grandchildren. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, August 17th at 11AM in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 123 William St., Springfield. All are welcome to attend. Burial will take place at a later date. Donations in Jean’s memory may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104.
