Jean E Foggs

Springfield- Jean E. Miflin Moran Foggs passed away peacefully on Sunday December 9, 2018 at Baystate Medical Center. She was born and raised in Harrisneck, Georgia on January 15, 1929 where she grew up and graduated High School. Jean furthered her education traveling to Boston to receive a certificate in hairstyling and owned her own business for many years. Jean was a Life member of the Carl L. Talbot VFW Post 6189 as part of the Ladies Auxillary, now merged with VFW Post 625 in Chicopee. She devoted much of her time at the VFW and served for a period of time as district president. Jean loved spending time with her family and she will be dearly missed. Jean was predeceased by her loving husband of 70 years Henry M. Foggs, Jr.; and her son Henry M. Foggs III. Jean leaves her son Philip Foggs; 2 grandchildren, Tonya Foggs and Troy Foggs; a great-grandchild Jazmine Foggs; and 3 nephews Lewis, David and Paul Thaxton. Jean was also predeceased by 1 brother, James Moran; 1 sister, Jamie Thaxton; and 1 nephew Vincent Thaxton. Family and friends are invited to meet for visitation on Monday December 17th from 11 AM – 1 PM at the Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 North Main St., East Longmeadow, followed by an 1 PM service in the funeral home. Committal services will be at 3 PM in the Chapel at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St., Agawam.
