Harry N. Fiedler Jr, age 86, surrounded by his loving family was called peacefully home on July 11, 2019. Born December 9, 1932 in Dayton Ohio, he was a son of the late Harry and Zelda Fiedler. He left high school early to serve his country as a Staff Sargent with the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict, finishing his studies when his service was done. After his honorable discharge from the Air Force, he was employed with Hamilton Standard, retiring after 36 years of employment. In 1972 Harry started working part time for the Longmeadow Big Y supermarket as a second job. This “second job” continued until he finally retired at the age of 83 after 45 years of service. Harry is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years Beverly Fiedler, his two sons, Bob Fiedler and his wife Lisa Fiedler, Dan Fiedler, and his loving grandchildren Steven, Kimberly and Zachary, all from Agawam, MA. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 from 4-8PM at Colonial Forastiere Funeral Home, 985 Main St., Agawam. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday July 17th beginning at 12:00PM from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, to be celebrated at 1:00PM, at St. John’s Church, Agawam. Burial will follow in the MA Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Agawam.
