Charles C. Alekson, 79, of Agawam, passed from this life on January 3, 2019. He was born in Connecticut on December 23, 1939, a beloved son of the late Charles and Bernice Alekson. Charles grew up in Windsor Locks with his brother and three sisters. He attended Cathedral High School in Springfield, MA, graduating in 1957. He was employed by Hamilton Standard as a draftsman/designer for 34 years and retired in 1995. Charles and his devoted wife of nearly 55 years, Susan (Griffin), were residents of Southwick for 33 years until moving to Agawam in 2005. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three daughters and their loving spouses Elaine Armitage (Paul) of Southwick, Denise Einzig (Robert) of Feeding Hills, and Paula Alekson (Patrice) of Trenton, NJ; grandchildren Shannon Anderson (Cody), Ashley Armitage, Alexander Einzig and Samuel Einzig; a brother Robert Alekson (Sandy) of Trinity, FL, and sisters Carol Delisi (Pascal) of St. Lambert, QC, Shirley Looby (John) of Windsor, CT and Janet Giuliano (Vincent) of Windsor, CT; and several adored nephews and nieces. His family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 9 from 4-7 pm at Colonial Forastiere Funeral Home, 985 Main St., Agawam. Funeral services for Charles will be held on Thursday, January 10 beginning at 10 am from the funeral home, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial, to be celebrated at 11 am, at St. John the Evangelist Church, 833 Main St., Agawam.
