Obituary

AGAWAM – Carolyn J. Williams, 77, passed away on May 9, 2019 at Baystate Medical Center. Born in Springfield, MA on November 2, 1941 to the late Harold and Jacqueline (Golden) Deyo, she was a graduate of Cathedral High School in the Class of 1959. Carolyn had previously worked as a medical secretary and enjoyed crocheting, scrapbooking, taking photos and traveling, especially to Aruba. She was also an avid New England Patriots fan. Her family and friends will always remember Carolyn for her contagious smile that could brighten even the darkest of rooms; her incredible spirit, courage, and determination in the face of unimaginable adversity; her endless offerings of support, compassion, and genuine kindness to any one lucky enough to have known her; and most of all, as the bedrock of her extensive family that had meant the world to her. Her husband will always remember the girl he had fallen in love with nearly 60 years ago, and the incredibly rare, and beautiful love story they shared. Besides her parents, Carolyn was predeceased by her sister Kathleen Deyo. To cherish her memory, she leaves her loving husband Robert C. Williams of Agawam; children Kandy Serafin and her husband Paul, Cynthia Lucas and her husband Manny, Robert Williams and his wife Traci, Jackie Smith and her husband Curt, and Michael Williams and his wife Jennifer; grandchildren Kristy Verdile (Anthony), Karen Ford (Kevin), David Moore (Shawn), Brian Moore (Jacqui), Travis, Sara, and Rebecca Williams, Robert (Debbie) and Jessica Kerridge, Kaitlyn, Ashley and Lindsey Smith and Zachary and Tyler Williams; 11 great grandchildren and her sister Christine Vrona. Family and friends are invited to gather on Monday, May 13, 2019 from 5-8 PM at Colonial Forastiere Funeral Home, 985 Main Street, Agawam. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 beginning at 8:45 AM at the funeral home followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 AM at St. John the Evangelist Church, Main Street, Agawam.
